Publisher's Synopsis
Baseballs and Battlefields: One Marine's Search for God, Country and Himself. Fulfilling a lifelong dream of seeing the country that he served, travel along with a Marine Veteran on his five year, 50 state quest to see a game in all 30 Major League Baseball Parks, while also setting foot on all our country's major battlefields along the way. With only VA Disability for funding, and his trusted companion and support dog Kimber by his side; the driving force behind the trip was showing other DAVs suffering from PTSD, that there really is life outside the VA.An interesting look at our young nation's battles from a war veteran's perspective, while also discovering some of his own family history along the way. Coupled with the pure Americana of seeing a game in all 30 MLB parks, to include both Spring Training facilities and even some minor league games too. Stories of encounters with fellow Americans, both hilarious and heartbreaking, the life-long relationships with new friends met on the road, and the healing that took place within, makes this a story that every American could be proud of.
