Ball pythons (Python regius), also known as royal pythons, originate primarily from the grasslands, savannas, and lightly wooded areas of West and Central Africa. Their geographic range stretches from Senegal through Guinea, Mali, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Benin, and into regions of Sudan and Uganda.
