Publisher's Synopsis
Now in its fifth edition and widely used by practitioners and students, the
BSAVA Small Animal Formulary provides a wealth of information on veterinary licensed and human drugs used in companion animal medicine.
The three years since the last edition have seen changes in prescribing practices, the arguments of which have long been played out. However, the use of off–label drugs continues to draw comment. Many of the drugs listed in the formulary are unlicensed for the species we treat. If they are to be used ahead of a licensed product there must be a clear and definable clinical advantage to their use. Some comments on prescribing off–label drugs has been added to the section on prescribing.
