Joshua fell head over heels in love with Christopher a few weeks ago while he was visiting the US and Canada. Lucky for him the feeling was mutual. Inevitably, he had to go home to the Netherlands to start his new job, which meant their relationship evolved into a long distance one. Long distance relationships rarely work. How can they work when you hardly see each other, to cuddle, and make love? With this in mind, and to make the relationship work, Joshua is now looking for a job in Montreal, where Christopher lives. In the meantime, they are going on an Alpine holiday together in Austria to reconnect after several weeks apart. Christopher meets Joshua´s housemate in Amsterdam. Christopher also visits Joshua´s hippy parents at their family farm in the countryside to try to figure out who´s responsible for creating such a colourful and weird son, with whom Christopher has fallen so deeply in love. Their Austrian adventure brings them to a secluded cute little village with plenty of opportunities for hiking and making love in an area of outstanding natural beauty. On one of their hikes brings them to an old emerald mine, where they hack away at the rocks in the stream on the side of a mountain to find a variety of minerals. Another gem, hidden in plain sight, is the attractive busboy at the hotel, who turns out to be an interesting addition to their holiday. Back in the Netherlands Christopher wishes to be introduced to one of Joshua´s friends, Quinten, who runs a photo studio and takes pictures of nude models. When Christopher wonders out loud if Joshua has any normal friends, he is not entirely surprised to find that the answer is no. Inevitably, Christopher´s two week holiday comes to an end and he has to return home. Joshua and Christopher decide that their next holiday will be in Norway to see the northern lights and subsequently Joshua hopes to go to Canada for good. This book is the sequel to Canadian Allure, which details the origin of their relationship. Both books can be enjoyed on their own as well.
