Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Australia in Its Physiographic and Economic Aspects
The present work is merely an Introduction to the study of the Commercial Geography of Australia. I have endeavoured to avoid bare statistics, and, humbly following the plan of Mackinder, Davis, and other modern geographers, to lay the most stress on the physical controls which govern the indus trial conditions ih our Island Continent.
There has been no attempt to give an exhaustive account either of the physiographic or of the_ economic aspects of Australia. This would not be advisable for several reasons.
