What is now called sustainability has long existed in Australia in the form of infrastructure built by indigenous tribes and buildings made by local tradesmen, The unique architecture created from responding to climatic conditions of the continent is explored in a+u 18:07 Sustainability in Australia. As sustainable practices continue to evolve, traditional methods that have proven effective within the local context should not be forgotten. New technologies should be used alongside these methods to provide the most efficient building solutions. The organizers of the Universal Principles: Unique Projects exhibition, Wendy Lewin, Maryam Gusheh and Tom Heneghan have collaborated on this issue to present a diverse selection of built works.
