Publisher's Synopsis
Throughout history, laypeople and scientists alike have tended to attribute creative behavior to dispositional rather than situational causes. The feature article of this special issue
* applies established principles of causal attribution to the issues of how people explain creative behavior;
* discusses how dispositional attributions of creative behavior affect the future production, evaluation, and attribution of original creations; and
* suggests some practical applications of the proposed attributional approach.
The commentaries support the feature article and explore its limitations, offering further insights into the debate regarding the explanation of creativity.
