In 1981 an attractive smart young woman went to hear Dr. Helen Caldicott speak about what would happen if a nuclear bomb went off. That speech changed Jeannie's life. It almost took away her marriage. Jeannie was active in the Nuclear Freeze campaign of the 1980's -- which did not succeed. Although 200 nuclear weapons exploding would destroy civilization and probably life on earth, the world has 12,000. Nine countries have nuclear weapons. Our heroine Jeannie is probably still working as an anti-nuclear activist.
