Cette jolie petite coquille est assez rare dans la Manche, mais on la trouve rejet'e en abon dance sur certaines plages de l'atlantique, notamment sur celle du Pouliguen. Dans la M'diterran'e elle acquiert une taille plus forte, mais sa coloration est ordinairement plus terne. Il n'est pas rare d'en trouver des exemplaires dans l'estomac des poissons connus sous le nom de Grondins (trigla).
