Offering an assessment package for students taking vocational French language units at standards equivalent to National Language Standards 1 or 2, this resource can be used either as a part of a broader vocational or academic course of study, or as free-standing units. The core of the students' book is a set of tasks for the assessment of all four skills at NLS Level 1. These activities are set in a broad vocational context and are suitable for students studying French as part of any vocational or business-related course. It also includes general guidance on the nature of the work required and how it will be assessed within the framework of NLS.;The tutors' file includes general guidance on assessment in the context of the National Language Standards, and practical notes on each Level 1 activity, with answers and transcripts where appropriate. It also provides sets of photocopiable assessment tasks for Level 2, designed to be specifically relevant to students on business, leisure and tourism, or hospitality and catering courses, who are taking optional or additional language units within these areas. The Level 2 tasks are useful for Advanced GNVQ students, but also provide a suitable range of assessment opportunities for students taking language units as part of a business-related course such as marketing, travel or European studies.;The cassette includes - in addition to the listening items - the partner's role in speaking tasks, so that role plays can be practised independently.
