Publisher's Synopsis
The Asia-Pacific Disaster Report 2023 presents the latest science-based, evidence-led research on hazard risks and their current and projected economic, social and environmental impacts under a 1.5 and 2oC warming scenario. Based on the latest RiskScape, the report will provide projected investment needs for key adaptation measures under multiple climate scenarios, including for multi-hazard early warning systems to support early actions and mitigate the evolution of climate-related hazards into humanitarian disasters. Further, the report will discuss and analyze the methodological aspects of loss and damage estimates related to the climate impacts and the new loss and damage fund established at COP 27.
