Publisher's Synopsis
It has been almost seventeen years since my second brain surgery in 2005. Friends think I am brave to have undergone such complex surgery twice, yet I don't feel courageous. It was a matter of assessing what my quality of life would be without it.
It took six years for my tumor to be discovered in 2000. This was a long, frustrating process. Shopping for a brain surgeon is daunting. As I wrote this memoir, it became clear that I didn't listen to my gut and stayed with doctors who didn't listen. I also realized that I was reluctant to speak up to medical professionals.
I was determined to get well and hope my experiences help you with your journey. I also hope you laugh at some of my experiences.
