Arthur, the King discusses the Celtic leader known to us as the historic Arthur, a man who lived during the late fifth and early sixth centuries, and died nearly fifteen hundred years ago. He was the basis for the legend of a thousand years later, and the works of Geoffrey of Monmouth, Thomas Malory and Alfred Lord Tennyson. The book answers the question, did a leader called Arthur actually exist, or was he a figment of imagination of a chivalrous age? Skeptics mention that Arthur or Artorious, as he may have been known, is not included in any of the genealogies of the period. The author takes issue with this view. He studied all pertinent historiography from the 540's A.D. to the late medieval era and beyond. From his research the author comes forth with certain conclusions.
