In 1887 (top) the University consisted of Morrill Hall, a horse trough and a shed for the horses and carriages. In the 1920's (center) the Univer sity had expanded to about fifteen buildings including the Mackay School of Mines. The build mg on the right was later destroyed in a fire. Stewart Hall, on the left, was leveled after being weakened by an earthquake. Thirty years later (bottom) the University had grown to include a new gym, dormitories, administrative buildings.
