Publisher's Synopsis
This book describes in some detail like its like to take a cruise across the Panama Canal. A cruise like the one described here also includes the island of Cozumel, Tulum, Columbia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Acapulco, although the greater emphasis is on crossing the Panama Canal and the mechanics of doing so which involves raising a large ship up 85 feet to allow it to cross a manmade lake which is incorporated into the canal system. The book is a useful and important source for writers and vacation travelers. On the other hand it is an interesting read for one to become familiar with this great Panama Canal and its future upgrades to be made. Ships are larger now, maritime travel much greater and improvement in the canal is a necessity to cope with this situation.
