Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Archologia liana, or Miscellaneous Tracts Relating to Antiquity, Vol. 5
Before the church was restored there were on the floor several grave covers bearing crosses of curious and varied forms. They were in the pavement before the altar rails and in the porch. Dr. Whitaker gives an engraving of one on which are represented the book and chalice of a priest, but it is remarkable for nothing but its extreme ugliness. All of these stones were destroyed at the restoration of the church. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
