IT has been wittily said that nothing benefits by a Translation except a Bishop, and certainly from the experiences I have recently had in mostly re-writing and amending the following Papers, originally con tributed to the volumes of the British Archaeological Association, I must admit it is my Opinion, that Revision, a near connection of translation, does not altogether improve the original thoughts of a writer, although one is taught from earliest days, that second thoughts are best.
