Publisher's Synopsis
This guide to appraisal is one of a series of books providing practical, classroom-based help and advice for language teachers. It aims to help the teachers, as well as those responsible for their management, to prepare for appraisal, to manage it, and to support its outcome. Theory is kept to the minimum necessary for understanding, and the separate stages of appraisal are dealt with in succession. Each chapter is divided into three sections: theory, consisting of a brief outline of what should happen; case studies, illustrating what each part of the appraisal cycle means for three typical, fictitious teachers; and summaries of what teachers need to know and might do, with reference to the three case studies.
