Publisher's Synopsis
Planners and developers, as well as civil engineers, ecologists, foresters and agriculturalists are all potential users in soil mapping. Recent developments in modern soil survey, particularly the application of computerized interpretation techniques, may yet be unappreciated. This report demonstrates the application of detailed soil maps to practical aspects of land use by correlating them with climatic and other data. Centred on the Southampton district, the study forming the background to this report also explored the interrelationships of soil maps and soil information with geological information and maps.
