Publisher's Synopsis
Catalysis is of fundamental importance to synthetic chemistry on both large and small scales, and studies of mechanisms of catalysis can throw light on questions of chemical structure, bonding and reactivity.;Chemometric studies, involving various forms of pattern recognition, are of value in studies of catalysis, as in many other aspects of chemical research. Much of this work has been carried out in the USSR, and is not as familiar to the chemical community in general as its quality deserves. This book should help to remedy the situation by providing an overview, with extensive examples, of pattern recognition applied to chemical catalysis.
