Publisher's Synopsis
This catalogue is the second in the series of detailed inventories of manuscript antiphoners in Flemish collections produced between 1100 and the end of the Ancien Regime (ca. 1800). The series is based on the results of the Antifonaria project, funded by the Flemish government between 2008 and 2011 and housed at the Alamire Foundation, which sought to locate and study every manuscript containing Office plainchants in Flemish holdings. This volume contains indices for nearly one hundred manuscripts held in Affligem, Bilzen, Bornem, Grimbergen, Hasselt, Heverlee, Kortrijk, Mechelen, Tongerlo, and Westmalle. Most of these indices represent the first time these manuscripts have been properly identified and analyzed.
