Publisher's Synopsis
People in our society used to eat whatever their mothers made for supper, and then they went to work afterward. There was a period when the idea of being thinner never even crossed anyone's mind. Work was done on foot, either in the fields or on the floor of a warehouse, rather than sitting at a desk in front of a computer, which is a significant difference between that civilization and the society we live in now. Physical labour was performed by most people since there was no other option; in fact, carrying out manual labour was the only way work could be done in those days. People often felt as though they could eat whatever they wanted during this time since their bodies were burning a far greater number of calories than they were taking in.
