Excerpt from Annual Report of the Operations of the United States Life-Saving Service: For the Fiscal Year Ending June 30, 1889
The first case was the drowning of Arthur Parks, 3 youth of fifteen or sixteen years of age, on board the small schooner-yacht Collingwood, of Toronto, Ontario, which was capsized August 13, 1888, at the mouth of the Genesee River, a little more than a third of a mile from the Char lotte Station, (ninth District, ) New York.
