The average salary per annum paid to male teachers was three hundred and ninety-three dollars. To females two hun dred a'nd thirty-seven dollars, a small increase in the cases of males only, over the preceding year.
The number of teachers employed is comparatively large, being greatly increased by the frequent changes of teachers in the schools, and the inadequate remuneration received for their services.
