The National Health and Nutrition Examination survey-epidemiologic Followup and Continued Followup represents the first health study of a cohort of the u.s. Population. The sample includes participants in the nhanes I who at the time of that survey were 25 to 74 years of age. The purpose of this survey is to investigate the relationship of baseline (nhanes I), physiological, nutritional, social, psychological, and demographic factors to subsequent morbidity and mortality for specific conditions.
