How can qualitative researchers in history sciences deal with the increasing amount of retro-digitalised and digitally created sources? How can digital tools be linked to established research methods in research processes? How does the academic research change when scholars have to search for complex patterns within masses of information instead of gaps in historical traditions? The present issue focuses on methodical approaches and uses both examples of contemporary projects and history-didactical research on contemporary history to highlight their importance.
