Publisher's Synopsis
Anne with Wings is inspired by the nature-oriented childhood of famous Canadian bird writer Anne Merrill. Anne spent her childhood exploring a large island in Lake Ontario called Prince Edward. Her lifelong fascination with ornithology began when her father, Judge Edwards Merrill, introduced her to a yellow warbler they had found in their garden.
Childhood should be spent learning about the beauty of the world in a fun and educational way. Through illustration and language, Anne with Wings connects children to the changing seasons, complexity of animals, and meaningfulness of curiosity and imagination.
