Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Annals of Sandy Spring: Or Twenty Years History of a Rural Community in Maryland
The persons of whom the company was composed were chie?y, though by no means exclusively, members of the Society of Friends, settled over the southeastern part of Montgomery County, Maryland. These primitive settlers of Sandy Spring neighborhood were confined within no precisely defined limits, but were linked to gether by the ties of similarity in birth, education, and manner of living; without which, the attempt to con dense the interests and incidents of ordinary life into one chronicle must be fruitless.
