Publisher's Synopsis

Anna's cruel step-sister sends her to find violets in the forest in the depths of winter - her step-mother orders her not to return without them. Anna sets out on a magical journey and meets twelve men sitting by a fire. They are the months of the year and the current king, December, is in charge. They help Anna by magically changing the month until violets bloom in the forest. Anna takes the flowers home and is met by anger as her step-mother and sister hear her story. They too search for the twelve men but they are out for gain and their greed is punished. Anna lives happily and her garden always flourishes.
