Excerpt from Analyses of the Hydrant and Well Waters of the City of Troy, Presented to the Board of Health, for the Year Ending March 1st, 1858
These last quotations suggest the consideration of another great objection to the well-waters, and that is their alarming tendency to aggravate the mortality of epidemic diseases. This effect is after all but the expression of their ordinary in?uence, acting upon systems under the grasp of some powerful poison, and determining by its aid the issue of the struggle between the contending forces of life and death.
