Publisher's Synopsis
It has been estimated that the average person will listen to between 2.5 and 4.2 million songs in his or her lifetime. The average person knows about four thousand songs. Music is inescapable almost everywhere we go. From the corner gas station to the Wal-Mart, to the drive thru window at Starbucks. (or Dunkin Donuts if you're spiritual). Music is absolutely everywhere. We would be liars if we didn't admit that music has a powerful hold on our emotions. Everyone has heard a song that has made them cry or at least made them want to cry. We have all heard songs that made us angry, sad, excited, or happy. Music encompasses all these emotions and more. While I would be remiss if I didn't say from the start that I now believe that these types of music fit the mold of the world and as such, should have no place in the church house, I wish to focus more on the meaning of godly music and its place in our lives from a Christian perspective, before I delve into what should or shouldn't be played in churches. What you choose to listen to in your personal life is between you and God.
