So pre eminently valuable have been his services, and so distinguished his virtues, that the rest of the civilized world, as well as this nation, justly consider him, one of the most finished models of the human race. With him have become iden tified almost all our important national incidents and benefits, during the past century. Doubt less, to the end of time, will the radiance of his name continue to lighten and cheer the earth.
