It makes ALL the difference in the world that we decide if Holy Spirit is some mysterious and awesome power that God extends to us in all of our weaknesses and ignorance, or if Holy Spirit is a real person, holy, infinite, mighty in power as well as gentleness, that we meet, entertain and allow to permeate us and use us.
Our perception of Him is critical and if we make the wrong decision, we will live to regret it. To think that He is just a force sent by God to help us weak humans is to displace Him from His divinity. That thinking is little different than a witch doctor in some hut that calls upon some fetish or talisman when he gets into trouble and needs help.
