For example, the entry for Benjamin Starr Boughton on page 19 is to be understood as follows: born 1818; no death date given; page 336; son of E11 and Molly Meeker; married first in 1850 to Sarah Maria Sanford, daughter of Enoch and Eliza; she died in 1868; their children were Mary Elizabeth, Martha Ann, and Starr Benjamin, es listed on page 337; he mar ried second in 1869 Sarah Merwin Bowell, whose parents are not listed; they had as children Grace May and Edith Lydia, listed on page 337. To find his ancestry the entries for Enoch Boughton and Molly Meeker and their parentages should be determined. Thus knowing any one name it is possible to trace back the ancestry, and similarly through the children to build the line down usually through the 1880's.
