A list of the books to which references are made is prefixed, that those unacquainted with the works themselves may be the more easily able to identify them. Those of which copies will be found in the Library of the British Museum have the press marks of that Library appended in parentheses, so as to save time and trouble to persons desirous of consulting the copies in our great national collection.
To these brief prefatory remarks it only remains to add, that it is the hope of the Editor that this little volume may be of service to Genealogical students.
