Publisher's Synopsis
An Archive of Ancient Rhythms from West Africa translates the oral tradition of ancient west African rhythms into comprehensive standard music notation. All ancient names have been maintained as well as their related orchestrations. This archive contains forty five ancient rhythmic songs. Each song is composed of two or more coordinated drum parts. Out of context, these parts add up to more than one hundred examples of ancient rhythms from west Africa. Additionally, this book documents the first official printing of the Universal Meter as a service to compositional orchestration. Jonathan Crocco is a career drum instructor in Paris, France. He's an Alumni of Berklee College of Music and endorsed by Paiste Cymbals. He's currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Music Therapy from Paris-Descartes. -More Educational Material from the same author: Fundamental Lessons in Rhythm and Meter(2020) Forbidden Notation(2003-2019) -Appropriate LInks: digadot.com paiste.com berklee.edu u-paris.fr
