Name of the Great China; and with good reafon, for it is Great in all refpee'ts, Rich, Fruitful, abounding in plenty of all things, and Powerful, as will plainly ap pear by the ibort Account Ilhall here give of it. But before I enter upon the Matter, it will be proper to make known its Name, and whence it is deriv'd, for the more methodical proceeding, and to fol low the Example fet me by many grave Authors, who before they lanch into the Account of the great Affairs of thofe Empires and Kingdoms they treat of, have firll: clear'd the Original and Ety mology of their Names.
