Dr. Kleber, whom I miss - I wish you were still in the same slot, Doctor. I mean that. As you know, when you were here I don't think we ever had any disagreement or harsh words. Since Novem ber 1991, Dr. Kleber has been the executive vice president and medical director of the Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University. Prior to this, he served for 2 years as the deputy director for Demand Reduction at the Office of National Drug Control Policy. Before joining the Government, Dr. Kleber was a professor of psychiatry at Yale University and a director of the Substance Abuse Treatment Unit at Connecticut Mental Health Center.
Dr. Kleiman is an associate professor of public policy at the John F. Kennedy School at Harvard University. The doctor also served in the Reagan Justice Department as Director of the Office of Pol icy and Management Analysis of the Department's Criminal Divi sion from 1982 to 1983. He has written extensively about many areas of drug policy and crime control, and is nationally recognized and respected.
