The purpose of our hearing is to examine the evolving computer hacking threats from nation-states and hacker groups to Government, financial institutions, American businesses, and personal computer networks. America's computers are under attack and every American is at risk. The United States Government, critical infrastructures, American business institutions, and our personal data are being compromised by nation-states and hacker groups. Their intent is to conduct cyber warfare, paralyzing our infrastructure, stealing our intellectual property, conducting espionage, and gaining access to our credit card, bank account, and Social Security numbers.
