Publisher's Synopsis
Ten-year-old Amelia, whose thoughts move so quickly she can barely keep up with them, can't believe her family is moving into a resort hotel on an island in Florida. Even more surprising, the island's name is Amelia, which makes Amelia the girl, not the island, feel like an explorer or a princess or someone much more important and dramatic than the ordinary middle child in a family of seven children. Actually, there's nothing ordinary about Amelia's family. Seven children make life chaotic, even for Amelia who should be used to her snotty older twin sisters and her squabbling little brothers. On top of all that, her father's job as a professional chef takes them to Amelia Island, where her mother tries to keep the children well-mannered, well-dressed and out of mischief in the fancy hotel until their house can be built. Sometimes, even Amelia can't think fast enough to stay out of trouble.
