Excerpt from All the Week Through: And All the Year Round; A Family, Personal, Prayer Book
The Family Prayer Book here offered for use is intended for reception in harmony with the spirit of the Church. Her Family Prayers have been incorporated here in the main, with other parts of the Prayer Book the whole be ing, it is hoped, in keeping with the Spirit of the Church as illustrated in her book of Com mon Prayer and Usage. Revelation, Scriptural Reading, the Church's Seasons, and the great Prayer Book of Ages in the Psalms, have all been brought into service.
The Lectionary, or Table of Lessons, here supplied was prepared by a Committee of the Upper House of Convocation in the Province of Canterbury, and published by the authority of the House.
The quotations from Scripture are inserted for such use as desirable.
The Prayers, it is hoped, will be found satis factory for ordinary use.
For Special Prayers, those in the Book of Common Prayer can be adapted.
The Home Collects supply greater variety, while keeping in memory the Church's seasons and teachings. Church Collects for Holy Days, etc., are added.
