Publisher's Synopsis

Excerpt from Alfred Tennyson, Poet Laureate

The two brothers, Charles and Alfred, were early sent to the Louth grammar school. It was here that, in March, 1827, they jointly published a small volume of verse, entitled Poems by Two Brothers.1 It was stated in the preface that the pieces contained in the volume had been written by them between their fifteenth and eighteenth years.
