Excerpt from Alabama Baptist State Convention Annual Reports, 1837
A letter from the Church at Irwinton, Barbour county, was received by the hands of Elder Atkinson, and was recognized as an expression of the kindest feeling towards this body; therefore, Resolved, That the convention cordially reciprocate that manifestation of brotherly kindness.
Appointed Elder Atkinson to occupy his former field of labor, as domestic missionary.
