Publisher's Synopsis
Imagine if The Sacketts were set in a medieval epic fantasy.
A family saga tracing the first few generations of Rehavan's immortals, First Immortals introduces the House of Euel, tracing their bloodline from its humble origins among frontier settlers to its eventual role providing generals, court nobles, and regional rulers to the empire of Salinor.
Prepare yourself for court intrigue, poison, and assassination; gods and monsters; goblins, fairies, dragons, minotaurs, and elves; quests undertaken to spite the gods; and civil wars fought between empires and vassal states.
The House of Euel moves through it all. Watch their souls buckle beneath the weight of power, watch as a father's ideals bend and shift when lifted by his children. Watch as power controls and alters those who wield it.

The dust has settled in the aftermath of Belisari's contest with the gods. His immortality is gone. His mortal body ages. No matter how he combs black dye through his hair, no matter how he plasters his face with pale creams, his time still dwindles. He dreads risk, to hazard his numbered seconds. After meeting an elf shaman in the Southern Steppes, he receives a prophecy, a single path that may lead to recovering his immortality. Desperate, he lunges at the chance.
In his stone keep in Gath Moran, Hefthon rules a dull and peaceful city. He sits and scribbles-histories, ramblings, songs. Every passing year feels like another wasted chance, another opportunity to dedicate his immortal life to something grand. He envies his brother Geuel who lived his briefer life in such a blaze of glory. He longs for risk, to hazard the life that comes so cheaply.
When an elven scholar named Ta'Hrada shakes off the dust of his libraries and leads elven Elisidor in rebellion, Salinor's emperor calls on Aeschulin, the new master of Gath Odrenoch's Guards, to put down the fledgling revolt. In turn, Aeschulin enlists the service of two very different men-his brother Hefthon and Belisari, an old and almost forgotten friend.
Hefthon joins for the adventure, to do something more with his life than sit at peace. Belisari joins in blind obedience to the prophecy of his elven shaman. They form a close bond as they serve together, a bond that is directly threatened by the nature of the shaman's prophecy.
A story of civil war in a high fantasy world, of brotherly bonds, close friendships, betrayals, and found family, of lost loves, elves, fairies, men, immortals, monsters, and gods, Ageless: Part II is an emotionally cathartic end to the family saga of First Immortals.
Stay tuned, though, for the eventual sequel series Second Immortals where you will follow many of the immortals who were only secondary characters in this series.
