Publisher's Synopsis
With the passing years, first-hand accounts of the USS Porter (DD-800) during the Korean War become ever more rare. Gilbert Mros has preserved some of those memories from his brother Glen, a member of the Black Gang in the boiler room, and a few other sailors who were on that 1952 deployment. Those stories, with official records from the ship's deck log, combine to give this brief account of daily life, action, and enjoyment aboard the Porter.
