"There are several examples of fiction included in the Bible. The fact that it is fiction does not change its status as inspired. "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Truth can come in many forms, genres or media. The author, Ursula Le Guin, has written about fantasy, "Fantasy is true, of course. It isn't factual, but it is true." There is truth in the fantasy world of Narnia that has spoken to millions of people over the years. When it comes to church, some will consider the use of Fantasy/Fiction as a waste of time. 'Why spend time reading fiction when we could read the Bible?' But that ignores the fact that there are many different kinds of literature found in the Bible. Some would consider Apocalyptic writing a close cousin to Fantasy. The parables told by Jesus don't describe historical people or events, and yet they are true.
