Publisher's Synopsis
This book provides a discussion on some contemporary topics in Corporate Finance. It is primarily designed as a book for a second course in Corporate Finance for advanced undergraduate students. However, most of the chapters in this text are devoted to reviewing and expanding or refocusing material already covered in an introductory corporate finance book. Yet uniquely, it reviews the recent debate on the cost of capital and consumption based asset pricing and models, a range of contemporary issues topics that relate to corporate decision making, including recent investment appraisal techniques, capital structure puzzle, firm performance measures, real options, merger drives, and waves. M.Sherif is a lecturer of finance at Heriot-Watt University, and previously held academic and teaching posts in the School of Economic Studies and School of Accounting and Finance at the University of Manchester and Cairo University. He is a member of the Higher Education Academy in the UK. His current and recent research spans both empirical finance and corporate finance.
