Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Admiralty Island Interim Guidelines
The issues identified are ones that the Forest Service and the State of Alaska consider to be of high priority and which need the benefit of public input for meaningful solutions. To facilitate issue resolution and public response, both the Forest Service and the State have described manage ment intentions and programs which correspond with our respective statutory and regulatory responsibilities. The management intentions and programs described in this document are intended to be carefully considered guidelines for future management, rather than firm decisions.
With the distribution of this document, we wish to set the stage for further public participation in the planning process. We are certain that some of you will wish to comment further on the issues, and to expand on those opportunities which have now been identified. An outline of future planning, and suggestions for your involvement are included.
