Publisher's Synopsis

The problem of prostitution and exploitation of young women in places like Pattaya Thailand and the Philippines is not just confined to these regions. Prostitution and exploitation are global problems that must be vigorously addressed. While countries like our own actively address these problems and enforce our own laws, other countries ignore and tolerate it and see it sadly as a form of tourism, even though it is supposed to be illegal. Also, the other part of the problem is men travelling to these countries from the United States and other parts of the world to seek out these young women for prostitution who should be in school and enriching their lives and not on the streets. There also needs to be laws increasing parent accountability. This book will examine possible ways to address this problem including applying political pressure in the form of sanctions or perhaps face-to-face talks to get the governments of these countries to start enforcing their own laws making prostitution illegal. Also, our own country needs to utilize and enforce laws such as "The Mann Act" to make it illegal for men to travel from the United States to other countries to solicit prostitution.
