Excerpt from Acts and Proceedings of the General Synod of the Reformed Church in the United States: York, Pa;, May 19, A. D. 1908
The altar service was conducted by Rev. Dr. J. Spangler Kieffer, Hagerstown, Md., and the sermon was preached by the President; Rev. Dr. A. E. Dahlman, Buffalo, N. Y., from the text recorded in St. John viii. 31-32. If ye continue in my words, ye are my disciples indeed, and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
After the delivery of the sermon, the session was formally Opened with prayer.
The provisional role of certified delegates was called by the Stated Clerk and the delegates that responded to the calling of their names were recorded as present.
